The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Gridley (DDG 101) returns to homeport at San Diego after a six-month independent deployment to the U.S. 7th and 5th Fleet areas of responsibility. Gridley conducted eight successful Strait of Hormuz transits, escorting high value units in and out of the Arabian Gulf and conducted six high-visibility operations in the East and South China Seas to maintain U.S. maritime presence and improve regional stability.
